What is Bylaw 2024-05?
Bylaw 2024-05 is an amendment to the Town of Westlock’s Land Use Bylaw to add Secondary Suites, Garage Suites and Garden Suites as Permitted Uses in the R1 (Low Density Residential) District. This amendment will streamline the application process for those that want to add a suite to their property. One suite maximum will be permitted per property and suites must be designed and located to limit their impact on neighbouring properties.

Any member of the public may review the proposed bylaw and ask questions. Information is available on the Town’s website under Local Notices or can be provided to you upon request. Planning & Development sta can explain what is proposed, how it might impact you, and how the public hearing process works.

If you wish to make a submission for Council’s consideration at the public hearing, written submissions can be emailed to [email protected], mailed in, or dropped o in the drop box at the Town O ce on or before May 13. TAKE NOTICE THAT in accordance with the Municipal Government Act, as amended, Council of the
Town of Westlock have established a Public Hearing date to to add Secondary Suites, Garage Suite
and Garden Suites as Permitted Uses in the R1 (Low Density Residential) District.

Removal of Municipal Reserve Designation
What is the public hearing about?
The property owner of 9727 112 Street has requested the removal of the Municipal Reserve (MR) designation (ie. MR Disposal) from the bu er strip currently running along the east and south property lines of their property to allow for the relocation of the bu er strip to the west property line. A public hearing is required prior to a motion being made to authorize the removal of the MR designation from the subject property.
